After connecting the wave power plant at Runde to the Norwegian power grid five months ago, our member Waves4Power is currently in an intense period of testing and evaluating all components and subsystems of the WaveEL 3.0. The results from the current evaluations will provide the company with invaluable information for the ongoing development of the next generation of wave power buoys – WaveEL 4.0 – which will be put into serial production in Norway.

According to Waves4Power, things are working out the way they should despite a varied wave climate during the five months of interconnection. Testing and evaluating remains the main focus, but Waves4Power has also managed to strengthen their organization by hiring Magnus Rahm as the new CTO (Chief Technology Officer).
