Developers in Sweden joined forces to increase collaboration on a competitive market. After all, the struggle to survive does not start at ocean deployment and demonstration arrays but in the common efforts in reducing costs and take lead in the innovation segment. Ocean Energy Sweden at stand #74 at the ICOE2016 takes great pride in presenting numerous projects that includes developers with common challenges, backed up by the industry.
Visitors to the stand was able to meet developers from Sweden and supporting organisations (such as Seaflex) to understand more about the different technologies, and how Sweden as a small country is able to be in the very forefront of development and innovation.
Among things OE-Sweden presented:
- The Wave4Power full scale deployment in Runde/Norway
- Seabased 1MW grid connected array on the west coast of Sweden
Patrik Möller CEO, Corpower Ocean, presented ground breaking innovations with their Wavespring technology during the session “From Concept to Commercialisation”.
“By implementing the WaveSpring technology we have created a wave energy product that can compete with other renewable technologies in structural efficiency. Such a shift would not be possible without the support of our partners.”
